LG counter-depth refrigerators are small and provide plenty of space. They're also priced less than many standard-depth French door fridges and can eliminate the necessity for a separate, smaller under-counter freezer. The LG Smart Mirror InstaView Counter-Depth Refrigerator (LMWC23626S) that offers the capacity of a standard refrigerator with modern and sleek design, is no exception. It also comes with an internal dispenser that provides easy access to drinking water.

It prevents hot spots and ensures an even temperature throughout the refrigerator.

This LG refrigerator stands out in our tests, and comes with plenty of capacity to ensure that your family is well-fed however, it has some quirks that we found irritating. First the freezer drawers don't stay as cold as we would like. The middle drawer reached 41 degrees during our peak testing which is warm enough to serve ice cream and other frozen food items. The temperature in the rest of your freezer was at around 36 degrees.

The doors of refrigerators also have handles that are sunken and are difficult for shorter people to close. This may seem minor, but we prefer front-mounted handles on refrigerators, as they are easier to open and close.

This refrigerator is expensive, but it's worth the investment for anyone who wants an ultra-sleek look in their kitchen. This refrigerator is recommended for those who want to upgrade their current refrigerator or those who are building new homes and want a seamless kitchen.

Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Samsung's newest counter-depth French-door fridge called the RF23M8090SG price tag is $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also did well in our cooling test, but we don't like the gimmicky handles or the flimsy crisper bins.

Bespoke is an option that makes the RF23M8090SG stand out. It allows you to customize your refrigerator with removable colored panels. There are 11 different color options, ranging from pastels to more vibrant shades. There are four metallic finishes. These panels can be customized to include photos or text. This gives the fridge a more personal touch and can be matched to your Rick Owens dress, Andy Warhol banana neon, or tie-dye Crocs.

The LED lighting can be altered to a different color which is a nice feature. The interior of the refrigerator has a smart finish that helps reduce smudges and makes cleaning a breeze. The only downsides of the RF23M8090SG are its somewhat congested beverage center and an incline to learn curve in opening the door-in-door feature which houses a water pitcher as well as dispenser. You need to feel for the lever that is located under midway down the door. When you locate it the second door opens up within the fridge, containing the pitcher docking station and the water dispenser.

The 6.8 cubic-foot freezer compartment is big enough to store a wide range of frozen foods and comes with an impressive slide-out drawer system that allows you to access the food item you're looking for without opening the whole compartment. The drawer can be locked by using a password to ensure that any unwanted guests are kept out. It also comes with a handy LED to help you see what's inside at a glance. The freezer's also able to monitor energy usage and help you cut down on your power bill with the SmartThings that are smart and enabled with Energy mode.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

French door refrigerators give a sleek design to any kitchen, and they fit well in a variety of room sizes. If you want the convenience of this design without the height, a counter-depth refrigerator is the best choice. This model from Frigidaire that we've extensively tested and has received an above average rating in our evaluations due to its reasonable price and thoughtful features such as an adjustable temperature drawer.

It also has some annoying issues. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF warms up quite some in the freezer, and it could get uncomfortable warm in the fridge's innermost shelving. That's reflected in our heat maps, which show how interior temperatures fluctuate minute by minute. The butter bin in the orange region at the top right is particularly warm during our testing period. This might not seem too bad at first glance, but it means the fridge spends a good part of the time at 33 degrees.

It's also worth mentioning that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model, which could be a consideration for some buyers. The real problem is that this fridge isn't very good. It lacks advanced features and durable construction, making it difficult to recommend it over better options at this price point.

In many ways, this Frigidaire is a stainless-steel version of a fridge you might see in the local appliance store. It's a safe option with a polished finish that looks nice and is impervious to smudges, but it does not stand out or distinguish itself from competitors with more features and cost less.

However, if you're looking for a low-cost counter-depth French door refrigerator and don't have the funds to splash out on our top selections, then the FGHC2331PF is worth considering. It has enough storage space for the majority of families, and does a good job of keeping food fresh. Even if it's not an energy-efficient model, it doesn't even come close to costing more than our top-rated models do.
